10 Magical Reasons to Spend Your Christmas Holidays at Fairmont Chateau Whistler

The most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us! Whistler is an extraordinary place to visit year-round, but there is something so special about spending Christmas and New Year’s in our little resort town. The perfect magical holiday you’ve seen in movies does exist, and it’s right here at Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

This year, discover what makes the Fairmont Chateau Whistler the most magical place to spend this holiday season.

1. Love at Frost Sight

From the moment you pull into our twinkling drive, you know you’ve arrived somewhere really special for the holidays. With lines of trees dripping with holiday sparkle and the festively-decked lobby halls, you will be immediately immersed in a surreal winter wonderland. You might even catch yourself humming a Christmas carol or two!

2. Deck the Halls

We love Christmas here in Whistler. Our whole town comes alive with twinkling lights and Christmas decorations. Santa’s Elves get to work early decorating our hotel with festive cheer from mid-November and keep it up for you to enjoy into January. If you already have holiday plans elsewhere, that means you can get into the spirit early with a pre-holiday visit.

3. Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Is there anything more magical than walking through festive-lit paths as snow falls slowly all around you? The town of Whistler is designed as a pedestrian paradise. While here, you can get practically anywhere by walking. Upon arrival, you can park your car, and give it a much-needed vacation until it’s time to pack up to go home. There’s no need to clear off your car or wrangle everyone into driving together – a real stress saver.

The festive season is also a time to celebrate. From après drinks to festive dinners, everyone can join in the festivities because there is no need to have a designated driver. Cheers to that! Of course, just because you can walk everywhere, that doesn’t mean you have to. Our hotel shuttle is here to give you a lift when you need it. During operation, the shuttle does a route around the Village every 20-minutes with multiple pick-up points.

4. Snow Much Family Time

The most important part of the holidays is spending precious family time together making memories. Reunite your family from near and far to reconnect and celebrate together in the mountains.

While staying as our guest you will get the type of quality time your family with cherish. From spending the day playing in the snow, to enchanting family dinners with a winterwonderland backdrop, and finishing your night with a good old-fashioned games night. Your stay will have endless opportunities to create memories together.

Being away from home on the holidays doesn’t mean missing out on your favourite traditions. To make your room truly feel like your home away from home, we can help to arrange to have a natural, six-foot tree delivered to your room. It comes complete with a decoration kit, so you can spend time together decorating the boughs, then all gather around it on Christmas morning to open presents. We’ll be sure to tell Santa where you are!

If you have extra romantic plans this year and are thinking of going from merry to married, our penthouse and festive hotel grounds are picture-perfect places to propose. Not sure where to start? Our team is always happy to help you plan something uniquely special to you.

No matter where you drink and dine over the holidays, you know it’s going to be delicious.

LOCAL TIP

For a true seasonal experience to warm your body and spirit, we highly recommend you don’t miss out on fondue at The Chalet. It’s a magical evening of cheesy fondue, topped off with a visit from the Schnapps Wagon!

7. Santa Is Coming – We Know Him!

We’re on Santa’s nice list, so Mr. and Mrs. Claus stop by every year to spread holiday cheer with our guests (big and small). They love spending the season here because the Christmas decorations, music, and holiday cheer remind them of home at the North Pole.

A guest favourite is our annual bedtime stories with Mrs. Claus. Put on your coziest pajamas and join her for storytime – complete with cookies! If you’re worried about where Santa is going to put your presents on Christmas morning, fret not! As mentioned above, you can have your very own tree in your room. It comes complete with decorations so you can set it up just how you like it.
